“The organizers of the Ice Hockey World Cup should be interested in the participation of the Russian team” – Matytsin
Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin said that the organizers of the Ice Hockey World Cup should be interested in the participation of the Russian team. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti Sport.
Earlier, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) suspended the Russian national team from participating in tournaments under the auspices of the organization due to the situation in Ukraine. Russia was deprived of the right to host the 2023 World Cup, which was supposed to be held in St. Petersburg, and the World Youth Championship (Omsk, Novosibirsk).
– The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation believes that the organizers of the Ice Hockey World Cup should be interested in the participation of the Russian team, the ministry will provide maximum assistance to this, – said Matytsin.
