The return of Bob Hartley to the structure of the Omsk Avangard does not threaten the positions of the head coach of the team Dmitry Ryabykin, the Canadian specialist will help him out of a difficult situation, says KHL Vice President Valery Kamensky.

Earlier in September, Avangard announced that Hartley had arrived in Omsk and would work as a consultant at the club’s academy.

– Is Hartley’s return to Omsk an alarming signal for Ryabykin? Instead, help. This is a high-level specialist who can prompt him and help him get out of this situation. Whether Hartley will lead the Vanguard or not is not up to me. If he had wanted to, he probably wouldn’t have left. He has his own plans. It all depends on the leadership and their conversation, – said Kamensky “Championship”.

Avangard, with Hartley as head coach, won the Gagarin Cup (2021), played in the final of the tournament (2019). At the end of last season, the Canadian left the post. This season, the Omsk team, led by former assistant Hartley Ryabykin, has suffered four defeats in four matches.
