The President of the KHL explained why he does not support mass brawls of players in matches

KHL President Alexei Morozov said that he is categorically against wall-to-wall fights in KHL matches.
On Tuesday, meetings of the light of directors and the general meeting of participants in the Continental Hockey League took place. After their completion, a briefing was held by Morozov, where he answered journalists’ questions.
“Why should I support fights? This is hockey after all,” Morozov said. “Our teams strive to score goals and win. This is what is recorded in the final protocol. And fights bring players nothing but trouble. The instigators receive disqualifications. After a massive brawl broke out in the preseason between Sochi and Avangard, we warned the clubs that the league would consider each such episode in detail if it was repeated in the KHL regular season. If a five-on-five fight starts from the first minutes, then this is not hockey. I don’t think it’s hockey. Hockey is goals, assists, wins. Yes, emotions too. But we don’t need pre-planned fights,” Morozov said.
In August, “Avangard” and “Sochi” repeatedly staged fights in the first minutes of friendly matches, in which all field players who were on the ice participated.

After defeating Denmark with a score of 6:2, the Finnish team also defeated Latvia with a score of 8:0. The Latvian team, which was only defeated by Canada in extra time, did not have the strength to cope with another strong opponent.
The Finnish team outscored its opponent with 41:7 (an anti-record at the World Championships – six shots per game).

The third day of matches in the elite league of the U-20 World Youth Hockey Championship has started.
The Swedish team, which started the tournament with a difficult victory against Slovakia, defeated the Swiss team with a score of 3-2 today. And again there were difficulties for one of the favorites.
