Forward “Colorado” McKinnon became the highest paid hockey player in the NHL, signing a contract for $ 100.8 million

Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan McKinnon signed a record contract among current NHL hockey players.
According to the Avalanches official website, the 27-year-old Canadian signed a new eight-year contract, which will begin in the 2023/24 season.
According to media reports, McKinnon’s average annual salary will be $12.6 million a year, which will make him the highest paid hockey player in the NHL. The Colorado forward will overtake Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid, who earns $12.5 million.
In total, McKinnon will receive $100.8 million over the duration of the contract.
Last season, the Canadian won the Stanley Cup with the Colorado, having spent 20 games in the playoffs and scoring 24 points (13 goals + 11 assists).
In total, McKinnon played 708 games in the NHL and scored 741 points (283 + 458).
