Alexei Tereshchenko, the winner of the European Champions Cup-2007 and the Gagarin Cup-2010, spoke about SKA’s current playing form in the regular season.

— Alexey Vladimirovich, SKA started the regular season with seven victories in a row. Do you think Roman Rotenberg’s team has weaknesses and shortcomings?

— There are no teams without weaknesses. So the army from the Neva is not so simple. With 8 victories in a row, Petersburgers do not always give the impression of an absolute favorite in terms of the quality of hockey. A striking example of this is the match against Dynamo Moscow, where, in my opinion, there was an absolutely equal game with mutual chances of winning. I am convinced that SKA, like other clubs, will definitely have a recession and a large number of mistakes during such a long season. In hockey, as in any other game, the one who makes the fewest mistakes usually wins.

– If you still specify, then where, in your opinion, is the most vulnerable spot of the current SKA?

– In my opinion, the most vulnerable point of today’s SKA is the line of defense.

– But what about the incredibly successful start of the season from Alexander Nikishin?

– Let’s start with the fact that his signing in itself is an incredibly successful move for SKA. Sasha is an absolutely versatile hockey player, able to benefit the team both in defense and in attack. I have no doubt that with the proper attitude to the case, Nikishin is able to grow into one of the best defenders in the history of Russian hockey! – quotes Tereshchenko SportsDaily.ru.
