Dynamo Moscow defender Brennan Menell spoke about the fact that he was approached by five or six KHL clubs, as well as the criteria for choosing the team in which he would like to play.

– In the summer I focused on my condition. I wasn’t sure where I wanted to play, I waited. Several KHL clubs got in touch, but in the KHL clubs begin to show their interest immediately after the end of the season, in April-May, and in the NHL it is impossible to negotiate until July – just when the training camp in the KHL begins. Closer to August, there were no offers in the NHL that would suit me, and I did not want a contract in the AHL. If I don’t play in the NHL, then I want to play in the KHL. He began to communicate with the clubs and eventually chose Dynamo.

In the KHL, I spoke with five or six clubs. It’s not always easy, some teams are quickly recruiting, and they no longer have a place. When I saw the composition of Dynamo, I realized that they do not have a similar defender, and I can help. It’s not the lack of competition, I wanted to play a lot and immediately benefit. I wanted to be on the team that needs me. And which will be successful – will get into the playoffs and will fight for the championship, – said the 25-year-old American “Championship”.

Earlier, Menell told how the forward “Washington” Alexander Ovechkin helped him get a Russian visa.

In the 2021/22 season, Menell played one game for Dynamo in the KHL, making one assist.
