Metallurg coach Vorobyov about the match with CSKA: “In overtime, not only we ate, but they too”

Hockey players of Metallurg made a mistake in overtime, which led to a missed puck in the match of the final series of the KHL playoffs against CSKA, the team will sort out the shortcomings in the game, said the head coach of Magnitogorsk Ilya Vorobyov.

The meeting, held in Magnitogorsk, ended with the victory of CSKA in overtime with a score of 3:2. The score in the series up to four wins was 3-2 in favor of Metallurg.

– Tight game, we acted well, – said Vorobyov. — But, unfortunately, this happens when you lose a match. We made a mistake in overtime when we passed back and conceded a goal. Well, let’s get ready.

If it had gone the other way in overtime, something special could have happened. Let’s look at this game again and figure out what was wrong.

— How do you plan to restore the psychology team?

– As I remember, the score is 3-2 in the series in our favor. We are playing in the final, and not with the yard team.

– Do you have a margin of safety?

– Yes. And in this overtime, not only we ate, but they too.

CSKA head coach Sergei Fedorov noted that the Muscovites acted unsuccessfully at the start of the third period.

– Not a bad game. We started the third period poorly. Somehow it didn’t work out. But I’m glad we managed to level the score. The goal we scored in overtime is a scheme familiar to everyone, and Metallurg too. This is a game of mistakes, there’s nothing you can do about it. We had a difficult 48 hours. But we were able to return the series to Moscow. We work further. We have certain moments when we can’t beat the goalkeeper yet. I am happy for the guys that we withstood the deletion received in overtime and brought the game to its logical end,” said the coach.

The sixth match will take place on April 28 in Moscow.
