Zhamnov refused to coach the Russian national hockey team during friendly matches in May

Alexei Zhamnov refused to coach the Russian national ice hockey team during the May friendly matches.
According to RBC, citing two sources in the Russian Hockey Federation (FHR), Sergey Zubov replaced Zhamnov for this reason.
– Zhamnov himself refused to train the national team in Tula and St. Petersburg, – said a source who claims that the FHR will not renew the contract with Zhamnov. A second source confirmed this information.
Zhamnov became the head coach of the Russian national team at the end of September last year, his contract with the FHR runs until the end of the season.
The Russian national team in Tula on May 1 beat Belarus (5:2). On May 2, another match of these teams is scheduled.
In St. Petersburg on May 5–8, a tournament will be held with the participation of the national teams of Russia, Belarus and the Russian youth team.
