KHL named the best players of the Gagarin Cup final

The KHL Commission determined the best hockey players of the Gagarin Cup final.
On Saturday, April 30, CSKA became the owner of the Gagarin Cup, beating Metallurg in the seventh match of the final series.
Vasily Koshechkin, representing Metallurg, was named the best goalkeeper of the final for the fifth time in the playoff round. The goalkeeper saved 93.4% of shots on goal with a safety factor of 1.98. The goalkeeper’s dry streak (156 minutes and 34 seconds) set a record for the Gagarin Cup finals. Koshechkin became the first goalkeeper to be named best in the playoffs five times.
Nikita Nesterov from CSKA was recognized as the best defender. The hockey player scored 4 points (1 + 3) in seven matches. Nesterov’s overall utility was “+4”.
Metallurg player Philippe Maillet became the best striker of the final series. He scored 6 points (2+4) in seven matches.
For the first time in his career, CSKA forward Takhir Mingachev became the best newcomer, who played in six games with an average playing time of 6 minutes and 54 seconds.
