Forward “Pittsburgh” Evgeni Malkin admitted that he had not yet thought about renewing the contract with the club, which expires at the end of the 2021/22 season.
On Tuesday, the 35-year-old forward scored the puck in the third overtime of the first game of the first round of the Stanley Cup series against the Rangers (4:3).
— I’m not thinking about my contract right now. Now it’s time to have fun, to play matches. I missed half the season, it was a severe injury for me. Now I’m focused on doing my best to win. I still feel like I can do everything on the ice. My goal is to help the team win,” Malkin quotes Pens Inside Scoop on Twitter.
The second match of the series will take place in New York on May 5.
