The Colorado Avalanche defeated the Ottawa Senators in a home game of the NHL regular season.
The meeting took place in Denver and ended with a score of 6:4 (2:2, 1:2, 3:0) in favor of the hosts. For the Avalanche, Nathan MacKinnon made the score (3rd, 19th, 47th and 60th minutes), also scored an assist, and Mikko Rantanen scored a brace (40, 48). Russian forward Valery Nichushkin made three assists. His compatriot goalkeeper Alexander Georgiev stopped 41 of 45 shots.
Josh Norris (16), Ridley Greig (16), Jacob Bernard-Docker (22) and Drake Batherson (35), assisted by Russians Vladimir Tarasenko and Artem Zub, scored for Ottawa.
Colorado is fourth in the Western Conference with 42 points. Ottawa (22 points) remains last in the East.
