Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin has been named the third game-day star in the NHL.
The 38-year-old Russian forward gave an assist and scored the winning goal in the NHL regular season match against Columbus (3:2 OT). Also, thanks to this puck, Ovechkin broke a goalless streak of 14 matches in a row.
The second star of the day was Russian Minnesota forward Kirill Kaprizov, who scored three points (1+3) in the victorious game with Montreal (4:3 OT).
The first star was recognized as Colorado forward Nathan MacKinnon, who scored the first poker in Avalanche history in the game against Ottawa (6:4). In addition to scoring four goals, the Canadian provided an assist.

The second day of competitions in the elite league of the U-20 World Youth Hockey Championship has ended.
After Slovakia’s victory against Germany in Group A, the host Americans took to the ice and defeated the Swiss team with a score of 2:1. The third goal of the tournament came from forward Will Zellers.
USA has two wins and first place in the group.
However, there was almost a sensation in group B. The Canadian team put the finishing touches on Latvia in overtime and won 2:1. It is interesting that Latvia unexpectedly beat Klenov a year ago but could not repeat this success.

The first matches of the U-20 World Junior Hockey Championship, held in the elite league in the USA, have ended.
The current champion and host of the tournament defeated the German team without any problems with a score of 6:3 and scored three goals each in the first and second periods.
Forward Will Zellers scored two goals and one assist. Earlier in this group, Sweden beat Slovakia.
In Group B, Finland defeated Denmark 6-2, while Canada defeated the Czech Republic 7-5 with four goals in the third period in a tough match.

The U-20 World Junior Hockey Championship in the elite league in the USA has started. One of the favorites in the opening match was the Swedish team and the Slovak team.
