“Someone should slap him.” Russian hockey player receives death threats in America

Angry fans are demanding severe punishment for the Nashville forward.
Nashville’s Russian striker Yakov Trenin has never had a peaceful attitude towards his opponents. But in the game with Philadelphia, the forward’s powerful power move brought the wrath of the fans upon him.
The Russian is openly threatened.
Hard power move
Trenin has been playing in North America since a young age. In his early years, he showed pretty good performance. In the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), Yakov averaged more than a point per game, which attracted the attention of Nashville. The Predators selected him in the second round of the draft, 55th overall.
For three seasons, the Predators marinated the player in the AHL, but he still managed to break into the NHL. As part of Nashville, the striker was immediately assigned the role of a defensive forward, who mainly does menial work. Yakov quickly mastered this role and in the 2020/21 season even became the team leader in the number of power moves.
This season, the hockey player also does not betray himself, giving his opponents power shots left and right. In the game against Philadelphia, Trenin demonstrated in all its glory his ability to firmly slam opponents into the boards. In the middle of the second period, Yakov crashed into Canadian Morgan Frost, whose back was to the Russian. The blow hit the shoulder, but the “pilots” forward, by inertia, flew into the side with his head, after which he fell. Doctors appeared on the ice, but their help was not needed: Frost quickly got up and went to the room under the stands. There, Morgan was checked for a concussion, after which he returned to the ice.
Trenin initially received a minor fine, but after watching the episode for a long time, the judges changed their decision. Philadelphia earned five minutes of power play, and the Russian was sent off for the rest of the match.

Since the game took place in Philadelphia, the reaction of the spectators in the stands was natural. Trenin’s forceful move was greeted with a loud roar, and his removal with joyful applause. On social networks, real persecution of the player unfolded.
“I believe that the NHL will talk to forward Yakov Trenin about this dirty attack on Morgan Frost,” Philadelphia sports journalist David Malandra Jr. addressed the league management.

“Trenin is a thug,” @Danny75866454 assessed the actions of the hockey player.

“Trenin, look around more often, he’s coming for you,” wrote @DR3Wheels, attaching a photo of the brawler from “Philadelphia” Nicolas Deslauriers.
– Someone should slap him. It was damn dirty,” @ArcainiLuke praised Trenin’s power move.
After Yakov’s removal, the Nashville coaching staff had only ten forwards at their disposal, but this did not stop the guests from bringing the match to victory – 4:2.

Junior World Hockey Championship. Great comeback from the USA, 9 goals and hat-trick from Canada
Another day of play in the elite league of the World Junior Hockey Championship has ended.
The USA team beat Slovakia with a score of 6:5, with big problems. The host team of the tournament lost 0:2 and 1:3 but managed to come back and win.
Forward Tomas Hrenko scored a double for the Slovaks, scoring three goals in the last match. And the Americans have a double thank you to James Hagens.
USA and Sweden are leaders in the group with 9 points.
In the other group, Canada beat Denmark 9-1, while forward Gavin McKenna is expected to score a hat-trick and become number 1 in the 2026 draft.
In another match, the Czech Republic defeated Finland 2:1 in overtime.
