Koshechkin, Fedotov and Johansson are nominees for the best goaltender of the KHL season
The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) has announced the nominees for the award for the best goaltender of the 2021/22 season.
The contenders for the award were determined based on the results of a vote by the coaches of the teams that took part in the KHL championship. According to the results of the survey, the top three contenders included Vasily Koshechkin (Metallurg, Magnitogorsk), Ivan Fedotov (CSKA, Moscow) and Lars Johansson (SKA, St. Petersburg).
Last season, Koshechkin became the first goalkeeper in the history of domestic championships to keep 100 clean sheets. Fedotov won the Gagarin Cup with CSKA. Johansson is the top goalkeeper in terms of wins in the regular season and playoffs.
The winner of the award will be announced at the KHL Season Closing Ceremony on May 19.
