Traktor goalkeeper Fucale: “We finished the regular season with positive emotions, everything is going in the right direction”

Traktor goalkeeper Zach Fucale shared his expectations from the first round of the playoffs of the Fonbet KHL Championship, in which the Chelyabinsk team’s opponent will be Ufa’s Savalat Yulaev.

The first match of the series up to four wins will take place in Ufa on Thursday.

“I’m really looking forward to the start of the playoffs.” We worked for this all season. We finished the regular season with positive emotions, and I feel that everything is going in the right direction. We are in good shape and ready for the playoffs.

— How would you rate the regular season, which was the debut of your KHL career?

— Overall, this season is positive for me. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun playing in the KHL. This is an interesting experience for me. And the playoffs are the best time of the year to show your best hockey.

— Is it important for you to become the team’s main goalkeeper in the playoffs?

“Right now I’m only focused on the next game. We will move from match to match.

— In the regular season, Traktor lost to Salavat Yulaev in all matches. Was it an inconvenient opponent?

— There were ups and downs during the season. It so happened that the games with this opponent fell at a time when we were not in the best condition. But now there are positive impressions from our game, and we are preparing to fight with this opponent,” Fucale told RB Sport.
