“Ak Bars hockey players were not allowed to free their hands so that they could enjoy the game” – Pokrovsky
Former Russian hockey player Valery Pokrovsky believes that Ak Bars head coach Zinetula Bilyaletdinov put the players of the Kazan team in an uncomfortable framework for them.
Ak Bars failed to reach the second round of the Fonbet KHL Championship playoffs, losing to Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg with a score of 1–4 in the series.
“Even Bilyaletdinov couldn’t do anything with these star hockey players. He put them in a framework in which they were uncomfortable playing. There are more creative, advanced hockey players who did not match the game that was required of them this season. They were not allowed to free their hands so that they could improvise, enjoy the game and thereby bring joy to the fans,” the Championship quotes Pokrovsky as saying.
