Severstal forward Danil Aimurzin said that the Cherepovets club is trying to play its hockey regardless of the opponent.
— Do you feel jittery before games against conditional Ak Bars or CSKA, where older, experienced players play?
– It doesn’t matter to me who plays against us. We just go out and play our hockey. There’s no point in worrying before the game, because we’re just doing our job,” Metaratings.ru quotes Aimurzin.
At the end of the 2023/24 regular season, the Cherepovets club took fifth place in the Western Conference of the Kontinental Hockey League. In the 1/8 finals of the Gagarin Cup, Severstal lost to Spartak Moscow with a score of 1–4.
