The first period of the group stage match of the World Hockey Championship between the national teams of Norway and Finland was completed early due to an injury to Norwegian defender Christian Kosastula.
A minute before the end of the period, Kosastul hit his head on the boards after a collision with Finnish forward Valtteri Puustinen. The judges decided to send the teams to a break early due to the fact that blood was left on the ice as a result of the collision. After the break, the teams played out the remaining minute and then started the second period from the middle of the ice.
