On Sunday, May 26, the national teams of Switzerland and the Czech Republic will play in the final of the World Hockey Championship.

The Swiss took second place in Group A, scoring 17 points in seven matches, the Czech team (16 points) came third. The Czechs, the hosts of the tournament, defeated the Americans (1:0) in the first round of the playoffs, and defeated the Swedish team in the semi-finals (7:3).
The teams met in the group stage of the tournament, the Swiss won in shootouts – 2:1.
The Swiss national team has never won gold at the World Championship before; the team became the silver medalist of the tournament three times (1935, 2013, 2018).
