The Czech national team won the World Hockey Championship for the first time since 2010

The Czech national team won the 2024 Ice Hockey World Championship.

In the final match, which took place on Sunday in Prague, the Czechs defeated the Swiss team with a score of 2:0 (0:0, 0:0, 2:0).

The goals were scored by forward David Pastrnak (50th minute), who joined the team during the tournament, and David Kampf (60).

The Czech team won the World Cup for the first time since 2010. In total, the Czech team achieved seven victorious finals.

The Swiss team lost for the fourth time in the final match. The Swiss have never become world champions.

The 2025 IIHF World Championship will take place in the spring of 2025 in Sweden and Denmark.

The national teams of Russia and Belarus were suspended from international competitions by a decision of the International Hockey Federation (IIHF) due to the situation in Ukraine.
