The national teams of Canada, Sweden and Finland will compete in the same group at the 2025 World Hockey Championship, the press service of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) reports.

The tournament will take place from May 9 to 25 in Stockholm (Sweden) and Herning (Denmark).

Group A: Austria, Canada, Finland, France, Latvia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden;

Group B: Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Norway, Switzerland, USA.

Group A matches will be held in Stockholm, Group B matches will be held in Herning.

The current world champion is the Czech team, which defeated Switzerland (2:0) in the final of the home World Cup 2024. The Russian national team was suspended from participation in tournaments under the auspices of the IIHF due to the situation in Ukraine.
