Pluschev: “Bobrovsky has proven that he has no equal at the moment, he is number one in the NHL”

Former head coach of the Russian national hockey team Vladimir Plyushchev noted the performance of Florida goalie Sergei Bobrovsky in the final NHL playoff series against Edmonton.

Florida beat Edmonton 2-1 at home in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday to win the trophy for the first time in its history. Bobrovsky, 35, stopped 23 shots and was named the game’s first star.

— Florida earned this victory with sweat and blood. The fact that our guys played a significant role in the victory is very nice. And Bobrovsky proved that he is number one in the NHL. At the moment, he has no equal. I am very glad that he was able to help his team so that for the first time in history, Florida deserved the Stanley Cup.

There is a tendency in the NHL that the field player is always honored. Especially when it comes to a forward. But Bobrovsky looked an order of magnitude better than McDavid in the Stanley Cup. But they have their moments and complexes that they do not refuse. They considered that the Stanley Cup sufficiently compensates for the other awards, – quotes Plyushchev as saying “Championship”.

Bobrovsky played 24 games in the last NHL playoffs, winning 16 games with a 2.32 save percentage and a 90.6% save percentage. He won the Stanley Cup for the first time in his career.
