National Hockey League (NHL) Florida Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky told who inspired him to go out with the Russian flag to the championship parade in honor of the Stanley Cup victory.
Bobrovsky walked out to the Panthers’ championship parade wrapped in the Russian flag. In the playoff finals, Florida defeated the Edmonton Oilers in seven games (4-3).
— I think it’s important for all of us now. Not long before the playoffs, I was able to attend a UFC tournament. It was so cool to hear Basta’s song at the stadium in Miami, to which our fighter Petr Yan came out. In this fight, he defeated a Chinese fighter and, with the Russian flag on his shoulders, thanked everyone for their support. The whole stadium was behind him. I thought then: “Cool, I wish I could do that!” — the Match TV website quotes Bobrovsky as saying.
Bobrovsky played 24 games in the 2024 NHL playoffs, winning 16 games with a 2.32 GAA and a .906 save percentage. He won the Stanley Cup for the first time in his career.
