MMA fighters who took part in the UFC 304 tournament in Manchester shared their opinions on the best knockouts in NHL history.
The Russian Machine Never Breaks publication showed the athletes’ reactions to the fight between Russians Alexander Ovechkin and Andrei Svechnikov, which took place in 2019. The Washington forward hit the Carolina player several times and knocked him down on the ice; Svechnikov was able to get up thanks to his teammates and team doctors.
“It’s a great show. I don’t know how they manage to fight on the ice,” said Tom Aspinall.
“They’re crazy. How can you hit each other with helmets on, you’ll hurt your hands!” added Paddy Pimblett.
“He can’t even stand up. Even though they have better technique than some of the UFC,” Molly McCann said.
However, not all fighters were satisfied with what they saw.
“They’re just holding each other and throwing punches. (Svechnikov) shouldn’t have gotten involved in this at all. Hockey fights are worse than a slapping championship,” Belal Muhammad concluded.
