Amur forward Devin Brosseau explained why he decided to transfer to a hockey club from Khabarovsk.

The Canadian forward joined the team in May, and the 29-year-old’s contract runs until the end of the 2024/25 season. In the last two seasons, he played for China’s Kunlun Red Star in the KHL.

— I like everything about Amur. We have a strong roster, a serious coaching staff, so I’m looking forward to the start of the season. Amur played well last year and managed to get into the playoffs. I think we can do even better this season.

— Why did you choose Amur’s offer?

— I thought that here I would have the opportunity to realize myself, help the team achieve results and get to the playoffs. This is a good challenge for me, which I was waiting for.

— Is Amur ready to face serious challenges this season?

— The club managed to preserve what it had last season and tried to improve it. Many guys stayed from that time, while new players appeared. The team continues to build on the baggage of last season, adding more key details.

— How do you like Khabarovsk?

“I really liked Khabarovsk. It’s a great city, located on the river. There are a lot of good restaurants and friendly people. I’m looking forward to home games to get to know our fans better,” RB Sport quotes Brosso as saying.

Last season, Brosseau played 67 matches for Kunlun, scored 35 points (23 goals and 12 assists) and became the team’s top scorer and sniper.

The new season of the FONBET KHL Championship starts on September 3.
