Ak Bars beat Torpedo away in a shootout in a KHL match

Ak Bars won against Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo in an away match of the regular season of the FONBET KHL Championship.

The meeting took place in Nizhny Novgorod, the main and extra time ended with a score of 2:2. Vasily Atanasov and Evgeny Svechnikov scored for Torpedo, while Artem Galimov and Dmitry Yashkin scored for Ak Bars. The Kazan team was losing 0:2 during the game.

In the shootout, the Ak Bars hockey players were more accurate, with Ilya Safonov making the decisive shot.

The Kazan club will play away against Avangard in its next match on September 9, and Torpedo will host Avtomobilist on the same day.

In another game, Vityaz beat Amur at home with a score of 2:0.

Junior World Hockey Championship. A landslide victory for one of the favourites.

Another match day has started in the elite league of the U-20 World Junior Hockey Championship.

The Swedish team, one of the favorites, beat Germany with a score of 8:1. This was the team’s third victory after matches against Slovakia and Switzerland.

Swedish leaders Frondell and Björk scored a double each.

Sweden is leading the group with 9 points.

The German team is still scoreless and in last place in the group.

Detroit beat Toronto 3:2 in overtime in an NHL regular season match. The Wings came back twice and won thanks to a goal from young defenseman Simon Edvinsson.

The team leads the East with Carolina.

The third day of competitions at the Junior World Hockey Championship held in the USA has ended.

After defeating Denmark with a score of 6:2, the Finnish team also defeated Latvia with a score of 8:0. The Latvian team, which was only defeated by Canada in extra time, did not have the strength to cope with another strong opponent.

The Finnish team outscored its opponent with 41:7 (an anti-record at the World Championships – six shots per game).

Finnish hockey players lead the group with 6 points, while Latvia is in second place with one point.
