SKA beat Neftekhimik thanks to Kuznetsov’s trademark shootout in overtime

St. Petersburg SKA won on its ice in overtime over Neftekhimik (3:2 OT) in the FONBET KHL Championship match.

In regulation time, Valentin Zykov and Ivan Demidov scored for the hosts, while the guests responded with goals from Bulat Shafigullin and Grigory Seleznev.

In overtime, SKA was awarded a free throw for violating the rules, which was converted by Evgeniy Kuznetsov in his signature “leisurely” style.

Having scored 21 points, SKA rose to 2nd place in the Western Conference, beating Spartak. The St. Petersburg team beat Neftekhimik on home ice for the fifth time in a row.

Neftekhimik is in 5th place in the Eastern Conference with 18 points.
