Washington goalkeeper Samsonov was ready to cry because of the behavior of the fans

Russian goalie “Washington” Ilya Samsonov spoke about the strong emotions after the victorious match with “Florida” (6:1) in the Stanley Cup.
The Russian repelled 29 shots and was recognized as the first star of the meeting. After the match, Samsonov heard the fans loudly chanting his last name: “Sammy! Sammy!”
“I was close to crying,” the NHL official website quoted the goalkeeper as saying.
Washington led the series to four wins in the first round of the playoffs with a score of 2-1. The fourth match will take place on Monday.
