The NHL credited Malkin with a curious winning goal in the match against the Islanders
NHL statisticians credited Russian Pittsburgh forward Evgeni Malkin with the winning goal in the regular season match against the New York Islanders.
The game ended with a score of 3:2. The Penguins’ third goal was originally credited to forward Philip Tomasino. He made a long shot at the goal, hit Russian defender Alexander Romanov, and the puck ricocheted into the goal from Romanov.
On the replay of the statistics, they noticed that, after Tomasino’s throw, the puck touched Malkin’s knee and then bounced off to Romanov. The NHL credited the winning goal to the Russian striker.
This is Malkin’s eighth goal in 38 games. He has 31 points (8+23).

After defeating Denmark with a score of 6:2, the Finnish team also defeated Latvia with a score of 8:0. The Latvian team, which was only defeated by Canada in extra time, did not have the strength to cope with another strong opponent.
The Finnish team outscored its opponent with 41:7 (an anti-record at the World Championships – six shots per game).
Finnish hockey players lead the group with 6 points, while Latvia is in second place with one point.

The third day of matches in the elite league of the U-20 World Youth Hockey Championship has started.
The Swedish team, which started the tournament with a difficult victory against Slovakia, defeated the Swiss team with a score of 3-2 today. And again there were difficulties for one of the favorites.
The Swedes lost 1:2 but scored three goals in the third period to win.
While Sweden and the USA are leaders in the group with six points, Switzerland is in last place with two losses.
