Earlier it was reported that IIHF on February 2–4 will consider the issue of admitting the Russian team to participate in the Winter Olympiad -2026 in Italy.
– If you look at different sports, then the trend in the return of Russian athletes to the international arena is quite clear. I can only speak for hockey with a puck, and the position of Swedish hockey is unchanged, it is important that we clearly express our opinion, Larson quotes Larson Dagens Nyheter.
At the same time, the functionary indicated that the Swedish team does not even consider the possibility of a boycott of matches if the Russian team is still allowed to OI -2026.
Since March 2022, the Russian team has been suspended from international tournaments under the auspices of IIHF.
