Ovechkin: “Every little thing is important in the playoffs. I hope we were able to prepare correctly “
The captain of Washington, Alexander Ovechkin, appreciated the condition in what condition the team approaches the start of the NHL playoffs.
In the first round of the Washington playoffs will play against Montreal. Last year at the start of the Capitals Stanley Cup they lost Rangers with a score of 0–4.
– In the playoffs, every detail is important, every trifle. I hope that we were able to prepare correctly.
The past play -off ended with disappointment. Since the beginning of this season, it seemed that everything is developing in our favor. I hope it will not change now. No one expected such success from us in the regular championship.
The play -off is a separate tournament. Here is a completely different speed, the intensity of the game. You need to be prepared for this, ”the Washington press service quotes Ovechkin.
The first game of Washington and Montreal will be held on Monday.
39 -year -old Ovechkin with 897 goals is the best sniper in the NHL regular championships. Earlier, the record belonged to Wayne Gretzky (894). Taking into account the playoffs, the Russian has 969 goals, according to this indicator it goes the second after the Canadian (1016).
