Canada desperately wants to win the World Hockey World Cup until Russia is not. Let’s go to a unique step!

Crosby returns 10 years later, and Fleri can debut at 40 years old!

The Canadian national team goes to the World-2025 championship for the only purpose-to take revenge for failure. In 2024, the team was left without medals. In Canada, this result was painfully perceived – and they gave a clear answer: in Sweden and Denmark, the combat composition will fight for gold.

Legends are returning

The main symbol of the new team is Sidney Crosby. The legendary captain of Pittsburgh, at the age of 37, again puts on a sweater with a maple leaf and will play the third in the career championship of the world. In 2006, he became the best attacker of the tournament, in 2015 he won gold. Now is a new attempt.

– I wanted to extend the season. Since I had such an opportunity, and I feel good, I decided to play for the national team. A great team gathers for us, ”Rob Rossi Ross Rossi journalist quoted Crosby.

A close friend of Crosby and another superstar striker – Nathan McKinnon will also go to the World Cup. The 29-year-old leader of the Colorado has already won the gold of the 2015 World Cup and the tournament of the four nations (2025). His return is another signal that Canada goes to everything for the title.

Historical debut of Mark-Andre Fleri

But perhaps the most touching and loud story is connected with Flery Mark-Andre. The legendary goalkeeper, the three -time winner of the Stanley Cup and the 2010 Olympic champion will debut for the Canadian national team at the world’s championships at 40 years old.

Yes, Fleri never played Canada at the world championships. In 2010, he won the gold of the Olympics, but in the role of the third number. And so, after 15 years, he can not only first go out onto the ice as part of an adult team, but also enter the “Triple Golden Club” – a group of hockey players who won the Olympics, the World Cup and Stanley Cup.

“I arrived home, my children just went crazy, and I said:“ I need to continue to play, ”journalist Jesse Pierce quotes Flery’s words on his social network.

In his farewell season in the NHL, he spent 26 matches for Minnesota with a percentage of reflected throws 89.9% and a reliability coefficient of 2.93. Not the best numbers, but the experience and charisma Fleri can become key in the playoffs.

Youth and Experience of Canada

The Canadian team at the World Cup 2025 is not only veterans. There are already 15 players in the application, including young talents like Maklin Selebrini (the first room of the draft-2024), Adam Fantilly and Kenty Johnson, and more experienced fighters-Ryan O’Reili, Bo Croat, Travis Konekna.

Among the defenders are Travis Sanheim, Noah Dobson, Brandon Montur, Mackenzie Wigar. The goalkeeper brigade, in addition to Fleri, will strengthen Dylan Guarantor.

Din Evason, ex-coach of Minnesota and the current head coach of the Columbus will be headed by this combat team. He will help him Andrew Brunette, Ryan Hask, Steve McCarthy and James Emeri analysis specialist. General manager Kyle Dubas and Ryan Getzlaf are responsible for building the teams.

A powerful composition with a clear task is to return the throne to the World Cup in Sweden and Denmark – to regain the throne. When Crosby, McKinnon and Fleri come out on the ice, and a new generation of stars grows behind his back, you can’t lose. Moreover, next year the Russian team may return to the tournament and competition for gold will grow many times.
