Lokomotiv beat Tractor and first won the Gagarin Cup

The Yaroslavl hockey club Lokomotiv became the owner of the Gagarin -2025 Cup.

Lokomotiv in the fifth match of the final series of the playoffs Fonbet of the KHL championship at the house beat the Chelyabinsk “Tractor” in overtime with a score of 2: 1 (0, 1: 0, 0: 1, 1: 0). The author of the victorious puck was Maxim Shalunov, Martin Germnat also scored for Yaroslavls. The “tractor” has a puck on the account of Stephen Campfer. The team of Igor Nikitin won the fourth victory in a row and won the series with a total score of 4–1.

Lokomotiv first won the Gagarin Cup. Last season, the team lost in the final Metallurg (0–4), and in 2009 – Ak Bars (3-4).

The Tractor for the second time in history played in the final of the Gagarin Cup and was defeated again. In 2013, the Chelyabinsk residents lost to the Dynamo Moscow (2–4).

Nikitin won the second Cup of Gagarin as a coach. The first time he won with CSKA in 2019. The coach also has three defeats in the finals: two – with CSKA (in 2018 and 2021) and one with Lokomotiv (2024).
