The US Hockey team in the final of the World Cup beat the Switzerland team.
The main time of the meeting ended with a score of 0: 0. In overtime to the Americans, the victory brought the exact throw of Tage Thompson.
The US team for the first time since 1960 became the world champion. Switzerland lost the second time in a row in the final – the team never won gold medals.
The tournament was held in Sweden and Denmark, the decisive games of the playoffs received Stockholm.
In March 2023, the IOC recommended that Russians participate in international competitions in neutral status, but the recommendation does not apply to team sports. The International Hockey Federation (IIHF) does not allow the Russian team to international tournaments since 2022.

The third day of competitions at the Junior World Hockey Championship held in the USA has ended.
After defeating Denmark with a score of 6:2, the Finnish team also defeated Latvia with a score of 8:0. The Latvian team, which was only defeated by Canada in extra time, did not have the strength to cope with another strong opponent.
The Finnish team outscored its opponent with 41:7 (an anti-record at the World Championships – six shots per game).
Finnish hockey players lead the group with 6 points, while Latvia is in second place with one point.

The third day of matches in the elite league of the U-20 World Youth Hockey Championship has started.
The Swedish team, which started the tournament with a difficult victory against Slovakia, defeated the Swiss team with a score of 3-2 today. And again there were difficulties for one of the favorites.
The Swedes lost 1:2 but scored three goals in the third period to win.
While Sweden and the USA are leaders in the group with six points, Switzerland is in last place with two losses.
