“Edmonton” dominates in the final of the West

Dallas confidently began the final series of the Western Conference, having mined a strong -willed victory over Edmonton (6: 3). However, then the Oilers took three games in a row and stopped a step away from the exit to the main stage of the Stanley Cup. At the same time, the Canadian club dominated every meeting: for this segment, the team of Chris Noblach abandoned 13 goals, and missed only two.

The leaders “Stars” sharply went into the shadows. The Finnish striker Mikko Rananen, who enchanted in the previous two rounds, especially disappointed. For four games against Edmonton, he has only “0+2”. Yes, and goalkeeper Jake Oinger unexpectedly began to lose the duel of Stuart Skinner out of clean.

However, before the fifth match, Edmonton had problems. The club said that the Canadian striker Zak Haymen underwent surgery and this season would not be left more on the ice, and Jeff Skinner took his place. But then the Swedish defender Matthias Ekholm also returned to the composition.

“Dallas” fought to the last

Already in the first period of the visiting meeting, Edmonton decided to make a serious application for victory in the match and in the series. At first, the Oilers realized the majority in the third minute: Connor McDavid strongly shot along the gate, and Caria Perry with one touch he sent the puck into the net – 1: 0.

The intrigue in the match was preserved thanks to Jason Robertson, who, even before the break, reduced the lag to two goals. Robertson took advantage of the unsuccessful exit of the Oilers from the zone and punished the opponent with lightning speed.

And in the second period, Starz completely waved to the Cumbek. In the middle of the game segment, Roope Hintz with a throw into one touch from a slaughter position was realized by the majority. But after a few shifts, Edmonton cooled the ardor of the opponent a little. Hockey players “Dallas” began to play in the attack and allowed McDavid to run one on one with the goalkeeper, and the captain of the Canadian club does not forgive such mistakes – 4: 2.
