“If Kuznetsov moves to Tractor, then everyone will benefit from this” – Kovalchuk

The possible return of the pupil of the Chelyabinsk hockey Yevgeny Kuznetsov in Tractor will benefit everyone, the Olympic champion, two -time world champion Ilya Kovalchuk is sure.

Earlier, the representative of the player Shumi Babaev told Match TV that the hockey player employment options in the KHL were pre -discussed, but there were no official negotiations with anyone. Babaev also said that it was decided to continue Kuznetsov’s career in the NHL.

– I think that Kuzya (Kuznetsov) certainly does not roll up to anyone. He is a sincere guy who was born in Chelyabinsk. And the fact that he moved things home does not yet say that he is bumping the wedges somewhere. I was worried that Kuznetsov did not initially end up in the Tractor. And he knows that himself. I will not reveal the details of our conversation about his choice. But we discussed it.

It so happens that people take premature steps and make mistakes. Everyone needs to give a chance to correct. Moreover, the person is a pupil of the Chelyabinsk school. No matter what Kuznetsov does, both children and adults love him very much in Chelyabinsk. And they are ready to forgive him, because Zhenya is kind, sincere, real.

I think if Kuznetsov moves to the Tractor, then everyone will benefit from this: both the league, the city, and the guys who are now in the club. I am sure that with proper physical training, Eugene will be one of the strongest KHL hockey players. If he wants it, this is the most important thing, ”said Kovalchuk in an interview with Match TV.

Kuznetsov is 33 years old, in the 2024/25 season I spent 45 matches for SKA and scored 40 points (13 goals and 27 assists). The Petersburg club completed the struggle for the Gagarin Cup at the stage of the first round, losing to the Dynamo Moscow in the series with a score of 2–4, in April SKA terminated the contract with the forward.
