Ovechkin changed his plans and remained in Russia. What is behind the solution of the NHL superstar?
The captain of Washington is located in Russia. Before the start of the season, only a month.
Last season, Alexander Ovechkin broke the record of the great Wayne Gretzka on the number of abandoned goals in the National Hockey League (NHL) and was not going to stop there. In the upcoming Russian, there are new goals and records, while there is no doubt that the striker will have struck the gates of rivals over the ocean more than once.
However, a month before the start of the NHL regular championship, he continues to remain in Russia. Alexander changed plans.
Staying at home dragged on
Ovechkin went down in history last spring, when he obeyed the achievement of the legendary Canadian. Celebrations on this subject were actively held throughout America, and the US capital was walking for a long time. The event was really absolutely unique, so it was not surprising that Alexander congratulated everything: from the stars of show business to the head of the FBI Kash Patel, who personally came to the Kapitals locker room to express admiration for the Russian record. He was also mentioned in his speech by US President Donald Trump.
Alexander traditionally spends a summer pause in his homeland. He did not change his habits this year. After rest in Turkey, he regularly in Russia and took part in a huge number of events, many of which were organized in his honor. A record of this scale really deserved long -term congratulatory events, so everything is absolutely on business here.
Nevertheless, at some point, Ovechkin had to return to the United States, where he had to play for “Washington” for at least one season. Yes, there were many rumors that it would be the last year of the Russian behind the ocean, but Sasha specifically did not say anything on this topic, obviously, not wanting to reveal all the secrets. According to the sources of Match TV, Ovechkin had to fly to America on September 5, but the forward is still in Russia.
– Alexander is still in Russia. The other day he will fly to the United States, – quotes the representative of Russian Gleb Chistyakov “All -Sport”.
What to expect from Ovechkin in the new season
At the same time, it is not clear what exactly made Ovechkin stay in his homeland. In any case, the time before the start of the NHL season, which begins on October 7, does not have so many hockey player. Nevertheless, panic, of course, is hardly worth lifting. Moreover, the same Chistyakov previously stated that Alexander did not lose his form and in Russia is actively preparing for official matches.
The player himself promised that he would work even more in America. With motivation, the Russian clearly has no problems. Firstly, there are still many records that he has to surpass or strengthen him already belonging to him. The choice there is huge. Secondly, the ambitions to win another Stanley Cup in his career also did not disappear. Last season, Washington showed that it is a serious force and is able to fight for the main trophy in the NHL.
It was an ideal point in his overseas career. Of course, he himself understands this perfectly and wants personal achievements to go in parallel with commanding, and not against them. Moreover, the main record is already submissive. All this means that Ovechkin will again light on the ice, and Russian fans will wake up in the morning in a great mood.
