The personal banner of the Olympic champion, two-time Stanley Cup winner Pavel Datsyuk was solemnly raised under the arches of the UMMC Arena in Yekaterinburg, reports the press service of the Avtomobilist hockey club.
On Wednesday Avtomobilist hosts Khabarovsk Amur in the Fonbet KHL Championship match, the score in the second period is equal – 1:1. Before the meeting, a ceremony was organized to honor Datsyuk.
Datsyuk is 47 years old and a native of Yekaterinburg. The Russian played for Avtomobilist from 2019 to 2021. With Detroit he won the Stanley Cup twice (2002, 2008), with Dynamo Moscow he became the Russian champion (2005), and with SKA St. Petersburg he won the Gagarin Cup (2017). Together with the Russian team, Datsyuk won gold and bronze at the Olympic Games, as well as gold, silver and two bronze medals at the World Championships.
