Shafranov joined the coaching staff of Ak Bars, Tertyshny left the club

Former coach of St. Petersburg SKA Konstantin Shafranov has joined the coaching staff of Ak Bars, the press service of the Kazan hockey club reports.

The specialist will be responsible for the team’s power play. Alexei Tertyshny, who previously held this position, left the club by agreement of the parties.

— Since the start of the regular season, the team’s performance on the power play has been lower than expected. To change this situation, we tried a variety of options, but on the ice we only partially saw the desired effect.

After discussing the situation with the entire coaching staff, a decision was made to change the approach to the work of special teams and change the majority coach.

I am grateful to Alexey Viktorovich for our joint work and high professional qualities. And I especially appreciate his willingness to always act in the interests of the team.
