SKA defeated Sochi with a score of 8:1 in the KHL match, Korotky scored a hat-trick
SKA from St. Petersburg beat Sochi with a big score in the Fonbet KHL Championship match.
The game took place on Friday in St. Petersburg and ended with a score of 8:1 (2:0, 5:0, 1:1) in favor of the hosts. For SKA, Matvey Korotky scored a hat-trick; Matvey Polyakov, Sergei Plotnikov, Mikhail Vorobyov, Rocco Grimaldi and Joseph Blandisi scored once each. At Sochi, Jean-Christophe Bodin scored the only goal.
The Sochi goal was defended by Alexey Shchetilin from the first minutes, but after conceding four goals, he was replaced by Maxim Tretyak, who had returned to the Sochi club the day before. However, he missed three more goals; in the 30th minute there was a reverse substitution for Shchetilin, who ended the match.
SKA forward Nikolai Goldobin was not included in the lineup for the game.
Igor Larionov’s team interrupted a series of three defeats and is in ninth place in the Western Conference with 18 points. Sochi (10 points) suffered its seventh defeat in a row and is in last, 11th place.
In the next match, SKA will play at home against Sibir on October 29, and Sochi will play an away match against Spartak on October 26.
