Barys beat Avtomobilist and broke a five-game losing streak in the KHL
Astana’s Barys defeated Ekaterinburg’s Avtomobilist in overtime in the Fonbet KHL Championship match.
The meeting in Astana ended with a score of 3:2 (0:0, 2:1, 0:1, 1:0) in favor of the hosts, who scored goals from Dinmukhamed Kaiyrzhan, Mason Morelli and Tice Thompson. Curtis Volk and Alexander Sharov scored for the losers.
Barys broke a streak of five defeats, scored 21 points and rose to eighth place in the Eastern Conference, Avtomobilist (31 points) is fourth.
In the next match, the Kazakh team will host Metallurg Magnitogorsk on November 9, and the Ekaterinburg team will play away with Amur Khabarovsk on the same day.
