Russian Washington forward Alexander Ovechkin wished good luck to compatriot Islam Makhachev before his welterweight title fight against Australian Jack Della Maddalena at the UFC tournament in the USA.

The title fight between Della Maddalena and Makhachev will headline the UFC 322 tournament, which will take place on November 15 in New York. Earlier, the Russian vacated the UFC lightweight title to fight for the welterweight belt. This will be the Australian’s first title defense in the welterweight division since defeating Belal Muhammad in May.

– Islam, hello. Ovi is here. I want to wish you good luck in today’s battle. We will worry and be sick. “All the best, show your class,” Ovechkin said in a video published on the UFC Eurasia Telegram channel.

34-year-old Makhachev has 27 wins and one loss in MMA, while 29-year-old Della Maddalena has 18 wins and two losses.

The Match TV channel, as well as the websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru, will broadcast the UFC 322 tournament on the night of Sunday, November 16. The live broadcast starts at 04:00 (Moscow time).
