The defender of the Chelyabinsk Traktor, 29-year-old Albert Yarullin, spoke about the behavior of the club’s foreign players after the start of events in Ukraine, and also that the loss of Czech hockey players could affect the team.
— What about foreigners? Has something changed in their game, in their communication in the locker room after the well-known events?
— No, we communicated as before. After all, we have our own work, we are not politicians, but hockey players. We have a team, we look in one direction, we have one goal, and it doesn’t matter who is from which country.
– Now it is already known that the Czechs will not play in the coming season. Do you think this is a big blow to the team?
— Yes, they had a great season, they were the most important part of our team. Of course, their loss may affect Traktor. But at the same time, there are no irreplaceable people. And in general, these things do not depend on us. The guys made such a decision, but they can also be understood, wish them good luck. Although I said that it is important to keep the team as much as possible, but, on the other hand, there has never been such a thing that there was not a single change in the offseason. There are always some movements, the main thing here is that most of the backbone remains. So we’ll get together in the summer, we’ll have to plow again at the training camp, and then get involved through the pre-season games in order to achieve the desired goal at the end of the championship, ”Yarullin said in an interview with the Championship.
In the playoffs of the 2021/22 season, Yarullin played 15 games, scored 6 points and scored 2 goals.
In early May, Traktor CEO Ivan Savin announced that the Czech legionnaires of the team Roman Vill, Lukas Sedlak and Tomasz Ghica would miss the 2022/23 season in the KHL. On May 10, they signed agreements with the Czech “Dynamo” from Pardubice.

Coach of the Ukrainian national team: “Fans want to see us in the elite team. You still need experience”
Dmitry Khristich, the coach of the Ukraine national hockey team, made a 2025 prediction for the team. The main event was the World Championship in Division 1A, where the team only lost their chance to reach the elite league in the last match.
“I think the year has been positive. We won most of our matches. I also rate our performance in the World Championship positively. Many people probably wanted us to get into the elite league immediately, but I believe that we need to gain experience and confidence at this level. You have to believe in yourself and build on your experience by getting positive results against D1A teams and promotion teams that constantly jump from league to league.”
“We need to learn to play the full 60 minutes, to play against any opponent, to be tactically flexible… All these and many other nuances still need to be worked out,” Khristic said.
