Morozov’s hat-trick did not save Spartak from defeat in the KHL match against Avangard
Omsk Avangard defeated Moscow Spartak in the Fonbet KHL Championship match.
The meeting in Omsk ended with a score of 7:5 (5:2, 1:1, 1:2). For Avangard, Damir Sharipzyanov and Alexander Volkov scored doubles, and Nail Yakupov, Giovanni Fiore and Michael MacLeod scored a goal each. Ivan Morozov scored a hat-trick for the Red-Whites, and German Rubtsov and Adam Ruzicka also scored.
Avangard extended its winning streak to three matches and, with 45 points, ranks third in the Eastern Conference standings, Spartak (40) is sixth in the West.
Guy Boucher’s team will play in the next match with Sibir in Novosibirsk, Spartak will go to visit Dynamo Moscow. Both meetings will take place on December 16.
