Super match in the NHL: Draisaitl’s 1000 points, McDavid’s 4 points, Crosby’s game
The main match of the big day in the NHL was the matchup between Pittsburgh and Edmonton, Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid.
But the real hero was Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl, who had a league-high four assists and scored 1,003 points. The player became the first German in NHL history to score 1,000 or more points.
McDavid scored 4 points and the Oilers won 6:4.
Sidney Crosby scored a point for the Penguins and was one point behind Mario Lemieux, the top scorer in club history.
Interestingly, the clubs changed their goalkeepers last week and today Stuart Skinner and Tristan Jarry played against their former teams.
Among other results, we also note Toronto’s 3:2 victory over Chicago. At the same time, Maple lost 0:2, but they made a comeback in the third period by scoring two goals in 8 seconds.
Colorado’s hockey players are ahead in the West, and next to them is Minnesota, which beat Washington 5-0 and won its fifth straight game.
Young San Jose forward McClean Celebrini continues to excel. The player scored four points and the Sharks beat Calgary 6:3. Celebrini is in the top 3 in the season’s top scorers race.

The main event of the game day in the NHL was the record of Sidney Crosby, who scored two points in the match against Montreal and became the top scorer in the club’s history, passing the legendary Mario Lemieux.
Crosby currently has 1,724 points and sits 8th on the league’s all-time scoring list.
Among other results, we note Detroit’s victory over Washington. Wings, who won 7 of the last 10 matches, took second place in the Eastern Conference.
Already ranked second from last in the East, Toronto’s problems continue.
In the West, Edmonton beat Vegas and Colorado was stronger than Minnesota.

NHL. Washington and Edmonton’s victories, Pittsburgh and Toronto’s troubles
While Carolina took the lead in the NHL Eastern Conference, Washington rose to second place by beating Toronto with a score of 4:0 today.
Defender Chikrin scored a double and goalkeeper Thompson made 22 saves to keep a clean sheet for the second time in four matches. The Capitals trail the Hurricanes by four points.
However, Toronto is still second to last in its division.
Young defenseman Hutsona’s three assists helped Montreal beat Chicago, which has lost four straight games without the injured Connor Bedard and is second-to-last in the standings.
Pittsburgh has problems. Although Sidney Crosby was two points away from becoming the most successful player in Penguin history, the team lost to Ottawa and finished second from last in the league with seven straight losses.
In the West, Colorado’s leader has two followers at a time.
Dallas beat San Jose and took second place with a difference of 4 points, while Minnesota beat Columbus and took place in the top 3 with six consecutive wins.
Edmonton’s situation is improving. The Oilers beat Boston with Connor McDavid’s short-handed goal and moved into the top 3 in the league with 7 wins in 10 games.
McDavid caught up with leader Nathan MacKinnon in the top scorer race with 58 points.

The first match of the Ukrainian hockey championship took place after the break in national team matches ended.
Current champion Kremenchuk is expected to easily cope with Storm, who has major problems in the squad.
Kremenchuk won 10:3 and the game was won by striker Gleb Krivoshapkin, who scored five goals and six points.
Captain Vitaly Lyalka scored a pair of goals and defender Denis Matusevich had five assists.
The team is in second place in the standings, but with an equal number of matches, the gap with Sokol has narrowed to one point.
The Storm are in fifth place.
