Two-time Olympic medalist in hockey Goreshovsky died at the age of 79
Josef Goreshovsky, silver and bronze medalist of the Olympic Games as a member of the Czechoslovakian national hockey team, died at the age of 80, the press service of the International Hockey Federation (IIHF) reports.
The former hockey player died on Monday after a long illness.
Goreshovsky played as a defender and won the World Championship in 1972 with the Czechoslovakian national team, also winning two silver and three bronze medals. At the club level, Goreshovsky played for the Czech clubs Kladno, Sparta, Dukla and České Budejovice. After finishing his career he worked as a coach.
