On the website of HC Rostov there was news about the withdrawal from the VHL championship, the information was not confirmed in the league
The official website of HC Rostov reported that the team will not continue to participate in the OLIMPBET draw of the All-Russian Hockey League (VHL).
The note is called “The music didn’t play for long…” (spelling preserved – Ed.).
“Due to the lack of funding from the Ministry of Sports of the Rostov Region for grants, the Rostov hockey club is forced to withdraw from the Russian Hockey Championship,” the statement says.
At the same time, there is no information on the club’s social networks about withdrawal from the championship, and the day before, Rostov announced the signing of a contract with striker Alexei Prokhorov until the end of the season.
The VHL press service responded to a request from Match TV that “at the moment the league has not received any requests or letters from the club on this issue.” There is also no news on the league’s official website about Rostov’s withdrawal from the list of participants.
“Rostov” takes the last, 32nd place in the VHL standings, gaining 23 points in 35 matches.
