Rangers goalkeeper Shesterkin: “I missed easy goals against Philadelphia, now I’ll treat the team to dinner”
Russian New York Rangers goalkeeper Igor Shesterkin criticized his own performance in the NHL regular season match against Philadelphia.
On Saturday, the Rangers defeated Philadelphia (5:4 B). Shesterkin stopped 28 shots (87.5%). In the second period, the Russian missed three goals within five minutes.
— We entered the second period without a goalkeeper. I missed easy goals. I was upset, but I was just trying to bounce back and give us a chance to win. Today we played excellently in attack. Now I’m treating everyone to dinner,” the NHL press service quotes Shesterkin.
This season, 29-year-old Shesterkin has allowed 76 goals in 29 matches. The Rangers are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference with 40 points from 37 games.
