Fetisov: “I doubt that Ovechkin will still be able to play at the Olympics, but I won’t rule it out”

Two-time Olympic champion and State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Fetisov told Match TV that Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin is unlikely to play at the Olympic hockey tournament again.
Ovechkin is 40 years old, the striker took part in the Olympic Games three times (2006, 2010, 2014), but did not win any medals.
The Russian national hockey team was not allowed to participate in the tournament at the 2026 Olympics in Italy. The 2030 Games will be held in France.
— Do you think Ovechkin will be able to perform at the next Olympics?
– I doubt. Most likely, this was the last chance for Ovechkin to play at the Olympics. In 2030, Sasha will be almost 45 years old. Honestly, I’ll be surprised if this happens. But he’s great, so I won’t rule anything out,” Fetisov told Match TV.
The Russian national team has been suspended from participation in international competitions in 2022 due to the situation in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian hockey championship match took place between the leader Sokol and the foreigner Krizhinka.
The meeting is expected to end in favor of the favorite, the score was 4:0. Sokol also managed to pin down his opponent only in the third period and scored three goals against the opponent.
The match was remembered when Krizhinka’s player Vasily-Yuriy Kachan lost consciousness on the bench. The hockey player was immediately sent to the hospital.
Additionally, the lights went out in the arena four minutes before the end, but the problem was quickly resolved and the match was completed.
Sokol is the leader, 4 points ahead of Kremenchug, with two games remaining against its rival and current champion.
