Metallurg beat Neftekhimik in shootouts in a KHL match

Magnitogorsk Metallurg beat Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik in a post-match shootout in a home match of the Fonbet KHL Championship.

The meeting in Magnitogorsk ended in victory for the hosts with a score of 4:3 (0:1, 2:0, 1:2, 0:0, 1:0). Among the winners, Egor Korobkin, Nikita Korotkov and Roman Kantserov scored a puck in regulation time. Grigory Seleznev, Luka Profaka, Timur Khairullin scored for Neftekhimik.

The author of the winning shootout was Metallurg forward Ruslan Iskhakov.

Metallurg scored 59 points and is in first place in the Eastern Conference standings, Neftekhimik is in fifth place with 38 points.

In the next match, the team from Magnitogorsk will play away against Omsk Avangard on December 26; the Nizhnekamsk team will play away against the same team two days earlier.
